Veritas has realized that one needn't adjust the iron to change depth of cut; it's much easier to adjust the toe piece forward of the blade instead. Thus they've created a shave with a rock solid blade mount, simple, inexpensive hardware design, and an easily adjusted reversible toe piece that can handle flat or concave work equally well. The shave's body is solid die-cast aluminum, which gives it nice heft for its small size. The 2\" wide, 1\/8\" thick blade is made of extremely hard PM-V11® tool steel, which holds an edge several times longer than regular high-carbon steel.
