Hock No. 10 Rabbet Plane Iron - 2-1/8" HC

This blade is for fitting Stanley's No. 10 (010) Rabbet plane. Record of England also made the same plane. These planes were sometimes referred to as Carriage Makers Rebate Planes. Because the iron protrudes out the slotted sides of the sole of these style planes, the iron will cut right up to an adjacent surface. This will let you trim a rebate or the shoulder of a tenon, right into the corner.

Hock irons have long been prized for their excellent hardness, rigidity and edge retention. This blade is made from ultra fine-grained high carbon tool steel, which takes a sharper edge than alloys like chrome-vanadium steel or HSS.
