Rabbet bits are used to cut a square recess into the edge of a board. The height of the cut is determined by the cutting length of the bit and the depth setting on the router. The depth of cut is determined by the size of the bearing on the bit. Standard rabbet bits come with one bearing, which can be changed to alter the depth of cut. We offer a full range of bearings for this purpose.

About Whiteside
Whiteside Machine Company was founded in 1970 in Bill Whiteside's basement where he supplied tooling to NC's huge furniture making industry. Whiteside is still family-owned but has now grown to occupy a 40,000 square foot factory in Claremont, NC.
